Spencer's Cafe

First let me start this review off by saying that the waitresses are beautiful, nice and sweet. It's not their fault on behalf except for the food being cold because it took them a while to get it out to us. Other than that, like I the girls are wonderful. Now let's talk about cook, I ordered the steak and eggs and it came with some potatoes. The steak was extremely tough and no seasoning and not the way I wanted cooked. My eggs were raw and I ordered them scrambled. Also, the potatos no seasoning and some were hard. Now my husband order blueberry pancakes and from what I will understood hash browns were supposed to come with it but they didn't. His eggs were also raw and he ordered them scrambled. His food was also cold. And I don't know if it's a bunch of old people that go there with no seasoning but they did not season anything. I really mean they did not season anything. Now I understand why we dont go there in the last past 2 years. Unfortunately will not go back.

This is easily the tastiest breakfast in Bakersfield. Everything tastes fresh and cooked with care and pride. No stale, out of a bag, freezer burn taste. The spicy chicken fried steak with country potatoes and biscuits and gravy should be a staple in this town. Up there with Dewars for out of town visitors.

The food was pretty good and our waitress was VERY FRIENDLY. But overall the place felt very sterile and dull. While waiting for our turn, some people would just walk in and seat themselves with our checking in, and others had to be added to the wait list. The employees were kind, but it just left like everybody hated being there. It just felt like whoever was working got called in on their day off. Haha The food was warm and okay, but for me I probably wouldn't recommend or go back.

Loved my visit to Spencer’s Cafe! The atmosphere was so nice and welcoming. I had some tasty pancakes and my husband had some tasty french toast, both were so delicious and fluffy. It was my birthday the day I came in a Spencer’s was the perfect place to have it. Will be back for sure!

Great locally owned and operated family style restaurant. I have dined at the southwest and northeast location for breakfast and lunch. I recently dropped into the Northeast Spencer’s, as I was out doing errands in East Bakersfield. While there was a moderate breakfast crowd , I didn’t have to wait long. The pleasant and efficient wait staff seated me at a clean and quiet booth. I opted for a favorite breakfast item of mine, The LumberJack Special… two generous golden brown fluffy pancakes, scrambled eggs, golden brown hash browns, sausage links, bacon and ham…Enough for two people ???????? The service was excellent . Highly recommend the Lumberjack Special for a hearty appetite. Great dining experience at Southwest and NorthEast Spencer’s location????
