Smokey and the Pig

We had the combo plate... pulled pork, chicken, and brisket with two sides. All of the meats had a great smoke taste. Pork and brisket were really good. The chicken was a little tough. Hush puppies and french fries appeared to be store bought... nothing special. Mac & cheese and potato salad (sweet) were good. I believe there were 5 or 6 sauces. We tried three (sweet, hot, and Alabama ghost) They were okay. Although the meal was very filling it was a little on the expensive side. $50.00 (inc tip) for two meals and no drinks. It has a walk up and order/pay window. No line (cold Saturday). No seating or tables. Very polite service.

My favorite BBQ place in all of NC. This is my 4th time here, this time I got the family meal for 5 of us, and everything turned out perfect. Lots of good sauces, 3 huge sides (Mac n cheese and coleslaw were unbelievably good), bbq pulled pork, and some sweet potato heavenly desert. They're also friendly when ordering and picking up.

Awesome! Delicious barbeque and a real authentic feel to the place. A bare bones aesthetic accompanied by the scent of wood fires. It's a great stop for tasty BBQ.... not a lot of seating. The loaded potato salad was amazing.

I am going to agree with the majority of folks on here stating that this place has great food. We are from out of town and wanted to try something local and this place was just what the doctor ordered. The folks working here are some of the nicest people, and did I mention the food is great?! We had the pulled pork plate and the pulled chicken plate. We had hush puppies, collard greens, baked beans, coleslaw, and potato salad. They have a variety of sauces and we tried them all. Next time we are in town, we will be sure to stop by. I would also like to mention that even though they have 2 tables located outside, this is predominately take out which works well if you are staying at one of the nearby campgrounds.

Truly amazing experience. The owners are incredibly kind, and so personable. We had one of the best BBQ meals in NC. Can’t recommend this place more!!!
