Sakura Japanese Restaurant

This place used to be pretty consistent. About a month ago. One of the girls upfront told me that the original cook was murdered. That came completely from left field. Ever since then the food has not been the same. Over cooked and greasy In comparison. I don’t go as much as I used to if at all. Nothing could beat the way the other guy cooked. He was always always always consistent with his plates. I’m sorry he had to leave us.

asked for shrimp and chicken hibachi plate. Shrimp is small and looks like frozen food. Chicken is boiled rice is bland,

Ordered hibachi chicken with mushrooms and a side of zucchini. I have the receipt to prove it. Received hibachi chicken(half of the chicken was shredded as it was boiled which was weird) along with whole mushrooms that still had attached stems. Stems were like rubber and not edible whatsoever, as well as five slivers of zucchini on my hibachi meal (that cost an additional $1.99.) When asked why it was not put on the side as requested, we were told that they did not have small boxes so they just put it on top. While the look of the building is much nicer than before, the prices are ridiculous and the product has gone completely downhill. I understand that products cost more these days and I am willing to pay the up charges. However, I want what I pay for. My family has been a frequent customer of this business well over 10 years, but today is unfortunately our last visit.

Hibachi is so fresh and delicious. I ordered steak, shrimp and scallops. Each very delicious. They have the best carrots I’ve ever had, too. Broccoli was cooked perfectly. We enjoyed the fresh kimchi on the side, too. Very delicious!

After dining here for 10 + years. Had to submit a review. It was great when we started and even better now. The carrots are not something you’d expect but so great. Portions are huge. Their yum sauce is phenomenal and as teriyaki. I believe it was an old Hardee’s but don’t let appearance fool you. Service and food are impeccable. We get take out everytime we’re in Macon. Don’t hesitate to try.
