It was rainy day so I didn't get to walk up the falls but instead trying the Restaurant 1858 (named after the gold rush time 1858). Trout fish was highly recommended for the best dish. I got both pan seared and BBQ styles. Service is excellent and perfect atmosphere. I was one of the first customers that day for lunch and I didn't reserve but got seated right away but recommend reservation in high season.

The rushing falls around the restaurant and the interior design was amazing, it is down hill from there. The location is the only appealing thing about this place, I would recommend just going to see the falls and not dine here. Some of the restaurant staff was great the others not so much. Our drinks were often empty, so was our neighboring tables. Was handed the check after the main course, without asking if we wanted dessert, bill was incorrect, other staff were pointing at us. Overall I would not recommend this establishment, especially for the price tag is not even remotely worth the value. Go to the falls for a day trip, save your money and go a nice steakhouse afterwards for a good value.

The service is great. Make sure to have reservations. The bar isn't big so don't count on getting a seat. The food is really good, pay attention to the specials as they are usually the best. The earlier your reservation, typically the better table you will get.

Nestled at the base of Seven Falls, 1858 provided a much welcomed reprieve from the 244 stairs summit descent. Although we were 40 mins early for our reservation, we were promptly seated. Our fantastic waiter, Sean, patiently helped us sort through the bevy of house cocktails and menu options. We decided to go with the brussel sprouts appetizer. My wife ordered the quinoa bowl and I went with the bison burger. The quinoa bowl was very light yet flavorful while the bison burger was insanely juicy (most bison that I've had wasn't). Note, the restaurant is part of the Broadmoor resort so a 20% service fee was automatically added to the bill.

Other than the negative experience we had with the manager of this restaurant, who runs the check-in area, everything else about this place was fantastic. Our server Jebb was excellent. I'll save our final comments about this experience until things get worked out with the Broadmoor who is the owner of this establishment....
