This place has so much potential to be a fun place. 50's theme atmosphere is great, food not as great. We had the French dip & the beef was way over cooked and dry. Tots not seasoned at all. We ordered the hand dipped shakes & were told there was only mint chip available. They were heavy on the milk, super runny & after we got it, we were told they were out of Whipped cream & no cherry like pictured. My kids said it was good anyway. Disappointing experience for me.
Was a wonderful find for us! Service was awesome - we were greeted when we walked in! And attention to detail, or to us, didn't stop there. Asked about how we wanted our breakfast prepared by the cook. She could have done it a couple different ways she said. Coffee was fresh and good. We both had a breakfast burrito so can't really say much about other but it was delicious! Next time we are in town this will be a certain stop! May have to try a milkshake
The menus are digital, which is a huge turn-off for me. That is the sole reason my review is 1 star. People hate digital menus. The service was subpar. The staff who greeted me didn’t smile or anything the entire time I was here; in fact, she seemed like she’d rather be anywhere else. She was glum, and when I walked in, she greeted me by asking, “Are you here to eat, or…?” I felt unwelcome my entire visit because of this. I ordered coffee and had to wait several minutes to receive silverware, so I didn’t have anything I could use to stir in my creamer. The food was prepared and served promptly. The presentation was great. The food looked very appetizing. The bacon was good, but the French Toast was salty for some reason. French Toast should not be salty. Overall, I don’t recommend eating here. You’d be better off getting breakfast from a gas station.
Definitely a hidden gem. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, absolutely stuffed! Service was great. Felt bad for the sever who was also the cook and checking in guests simultaneously.
I have been there twice in the last year and both times the bill was expensive!!! The last summer I ordered a coffee and a side of toast. This was a $12.00 bill. The service was great, and I never had to ask for a refill, as the waitress was on it. Then last week I ordered a coffee and a cup of Pepsi and that was a $9.00 bill. I had to flag the waitress down, as she was sitting behind a desk (we were the only people in the place), she never asked if we were doing OK or wanted food. I will not go there again. I know my family said it was cheap, but my two experiences were that it was WAY overpriced. My ex-father-in-law was an engineer for Burlington and always said the railroad diners are the best. Guess he never came to Glenwood!
