CUSTOMER REVIEWS
Stopped here today for lunch, never been in before. Service was absolutely amazing, our waitress was so attentive and sweet (she even gave us recommendations for our next trip in). Food came out fast and hot. Portion sizes were amazing! Best hidden gem of a restaurant I have found in a long time. Will be back!!!
Since the new owner took over Peking City we've been here a few times as a group of four. Each time we all commented how delicious the food is. The new owner, Oscar, and his staff are on point, the menu is extensive, and service is always prompt and friendly. Try the General's Chicken, the Triple Delight, the Ginger Beef, the Orange Chicken, to name just a few... but you can't go wrong with anything, everything on the menu is prepared to perfection. Don't hesitate to try this place, you won't be disappointed!
NEW REVIEW: Sad that Peking City was no longer in business, I was pleased that someone took a chance and opened it up again. Hearing a few reviews and some positive feedback, I decided to check it out. Gone is the Americana food: it is all 'Chinese' now: and unfortunately, very 'American' Chinese. If you like MSG sauce + protein + veg, you might be happy with the food. There wasn't much flavor other than salt in my Peking Boneless Chicken (which was a Chef Special). I ordered it 'Hot' and it was anything but: zero heat. The eggroll wasn't bad but there was no soup included or tea. Other dishes ordered were: Cashew Shrimp and Shrimp and Peapods. Both had the same problems: salty with little flavor. We had an enormous amount of leftovers which will probably end up in the trash. I don't mind the increased prices (everything is more expensive now), but $55 for four people means the food has to be delicious. The waitress was nice and the rest of the staff was cheerful and accommodating; however, I don't think I'll be back. Disappointed. OLD REVIEW (different owners): One of two greasy-spoon restaurants in Sebewaing, Peking City is definitely the preferred choice. The inside has been updated with new chairs, tables and carpet -- overdue for quite a while. Offering American and Chinese (American) cuisine, there is quite a bit of variety on the menu. The Broasted Chicken is decent as is most of the food -- however, you will have to pay extra for fries with that burger... The only real complaint is the higher than palatable prices. A burger (with fries) comes to over $8 and most of the dishes hover around $10.
First time eating there. We were ice fishing on the bay nearby. The food was quite a treat. I haven’t had Chinese food that good in a long time. The Egg rolls and Egg drop soup are amazing. Can’t wait to get back there again.
My friend and I are here in Sebewaing for the CMA State Rally. We seen you were opened so we stopped in for lunch. Not sorry we did! Awesome service and food is delicious!!
