Mayeaux's Steak & Seafood Restaurant

Super nice staff. The 80's music was a nice change. But let's talk about those fried shrimp!! They were the best I have had in years! Very nice size, and seasoned nicely. They were cooked PERFECTLY!! So moist and tender! Obviously very fresh. No fishy taste at all. The onion rings are seasoned and cooked perfectly also. The French bread and butter was a nice start. The meat pies were good and the dipping sauce was flavorsome. The view outside is fantastic. Would definitely recommend!!

Food is average for the price point they are at. The mini meat pies are worth a try. Service is mediocre, and the atmosphere very cliched. We went during the Christmas holidays and the town/riverfront was all lit up. This made the place feel sort of magical.

My wife and I stopped in while at the Natchitoches Christmas lights to have a steak which was excellent. We had cream spinach as a side and it isn't something either of us would recommend or order again although this is a dish we usually enjoy. Great service and atmosphere. Would recommend eating here.

They had a 45 minute wait with no reservations, but the breeze off the Cane River made it a pleasant one on a bench outside. Blackened catfish was amazing, the steak was delicious. Had a slight miss with the fried crawfish (too much batter for the tail size), but the etouffee was good. On the pricey side, $10+ drinks, but worth the wait. Wait staff was prompt considering that the restaurant was consistently full. It was loud, but not enough to prevent conversation, the seats were comfortable for the 90 minutes we spent eating. Food took a bit longer than I would like, but again, it was more than acceptable for how busy it was. We will be returning, all in all a nice evening.

My husband and I came to Natchitoches for an overnight get away and ate at Mayeaux’s for dinner! I cannot say enough how impressed we were with this place! It was absolutely DELICIOUS. We live over an hour away but it’s WELL worth the drive to come down to eat here. I’m already trying to figure out when we’ll come back!
