I thought I had stayed in a bad motel before. I was wrong. As soon as you drive into the parking lot, you see people sitting outside of their rooms on the room furniture. These are not transient construction workers because there are no cars. Just people milling about yelling at each other. This is obviously a homeless shelter. I opened the door to the room, and the smell of cigarette smoke smacks you in the face. It's enough that you can taste it. My wife pulls back the sheets and although they smelled like they had been washed, there were paint stains and cigarette burns in them. The wash cloths looked like someone checked the oil in their car then put them back. There was only a small partial roll of toilet paper sitting on the edge of the tub because the holder was broken. No tissue paper in the dispenser. No coffee for the coffee pot, Hell there was no coffee pot. A coffee maker but no pot to put it in. Then, the other "guests" got into an argument. Yelling down the breezeway. " He ain't supposed to be here. I got a court order. He ain't supposed to be here." I was in the room all of 10 minutes when we asked for a refund. We were told it was against company policy that we would have to go through Expedia if we wanted our money back. Definitely plan to because no traveler should stay here
Once upon a time, I lived here. I was shocked and slightly sad to hear that Sammie and her dad sold the hotel to someone else. But happy heart when everyone got to keep their jobs, despite new owners. Rooms are currently under construction but should be quite the pleasant and relaxing spot. And price is cheap?
Actually the staff in my opinion is pretty cool. even if they don't hear what im talking about lol their never rude to me. On another note If they would give me a job. And as soon as the next available king sized one bed smoking upstairs apartment becomes available I'd love to have it instead od this two bed. though I can afford it it sure feels bettee javing extra bucks in my poket after rrnt is paid. Anyhow keep up the great work owners and staff at the Magnuson.
Very nasty room smells like someone died in there. There advertising is all a lie about serving breakfast and how the keep there rooms with all the pictures they put. It is not sanitary for someone to spend the night.
Let's start by saying the staff are great. Very professional and kind. The beds are comfortable. If your just passing through and need a quick nap then it's cheap and ok for that. Also no charge for pets which is nice. Would not recommend long stay. The hotel itself is horrible. It's an older hotel which is fine if it was maintained. We also had roaches in our room. Also sketchy people walking all around property looking into car windows. We were worried about car break ins so my wife and I took turns sleeping and keeping eye on car then left at like 12 midnight because of the roaches.
