Let me start by saying we were here for only hockey and didn't walk the grounds, which appeared to have a lot to do in the warmer weather. However If visiting the ice rink bundle up because it's technically an outdoor rink with a roof and one of the coldest rinks we've been to. The changing rooms are small. There are vending machines but no concession stand / cafe.
So I’m sure there are bathrooms.. however I didn’t see any unless it’s in the main recreational building. MacKay Park has all the potential.. but there is a stream/ creek/ Brook right alongside the park so I’m assuming that’s what attracts the Geese ???? so you know a LOTTT of Geese Poo everywhere smh. Other than that super spacious, they have benches all over, Basketball courts, tennis court, softballl / baseball fields and a great soccer field!
This park is the perfect size, it has basketball courts, tennis courts, picnic pavilion, and they're even redoing the baseball field! It's great for a short bike ride, definitely one of my favorite spots in Englewood. Please don't litter ???????
The waiting area is a hot mess. Kids, skaters, moms and snack foods everywhere. There are cubbys for shoes and lockers for valuables(bring quarters for lockers). Public sessions for ice skating is pretty decent. There are resting benches for skaters, and kids seems to really have lots of fun. But there are a lot of kids falling everywhere. For an hr or two of fun, this was worth it. They should really fix the sound system cause it was just spazzing out and very staticky.
Fun place to take a few spins around the ice.
