Log Slide Parking Area

NOT dog friendly! Stunning views and easy hike out. If you choose to go to the bottom of the dune it could take you 1 hour to get back up. Make sure to go to the left trail after the "shed" for the best views.

Beautiful Dunes and views. A logging wheel cart with 12’tall wheels along the path, nice little addition. Great views from the top of the dunes , even better views midway down. A VERY steep grade. Easy and fun going down to the beach, just kinda go with the moving sand under your feet. Real barn burner and heart rate raiser coming back up. Sand is loose , hard to get some traction. It’s definitely an effort coming back up. In my opinion, it was worth the effort.

A very unique area along lake superior. A short .75 mile hike will get you to the top of a sand dune where you can get some great pictures of the dunes. If yoi then go along the fence to the left yoi can get a good picture of the sable light house out in the distance. Best to have a telephonic lens since cell phones have difficulty focusing that far away.

Beautiful parking lot. If you're going to the Log Slide, this is hands down the best place to park. Overlook itself is amazing. I made the mistake of running down the slide. That part was plenty of fun. The climb back up? Not so much. The steepness wasn't the worst part; it was that the sand was so loose and fine, there's basically no way to get a grip and, unless you weigh like 40 pounds, you don't have much choice other than to sink in as you try to climb upward.

Stunning views, reminds me of Sleeping Bear dunes. Pretty easy walk through the woods to get there.
