Horrible, do not go here! The baked goods are stale! I ordered a pistachio croissant & it was inedible! I ordered around 3:30pm in store. The croissant was so hard that I could barely break it apart into pieces. It flaked everywhere from how stale & dry it was. I cut it open and there was barely any filling as well. I am so disappointed and will never return, and highly encourage you not to as well. I put pictures to show how hard the croissant was + the inside of it. They need to do better
Great place! Easy to order, big selection, and plenty of seating inside and out. Best croissant in DC? I will say it is the only croissant in DC but it was absolutely fantastic and I would be willing to believe it's the best. I would happily go back the next time I am in the area.
The Erfani Family have built, created, and run a warm and friendly establishment. Have not been back in a couple years. When I had been in the area, I had been a regular customer, for about 10 years. Le Caprice Café is a lovely French- style Café and bakery. They make American, French, and Persian delights: from bread to sandwiches made with the bread to danish and crusts filled with savory fillings. There is also nice outdoor seating and nice indoor seating with books and newspaper to distract one as needed. This establishment is a bit of sophistication with a European flare in the heart of DC. Not so french but not so bad. Pastries were hit or miss. Pain au chocolat was good, but flavored cookies were bland, no flavor at all. Chairs and tables were dirty with food crumbs everywhere. Staff was nice and friendly.
Convenient bakery/cafe in the neighborhood. Their pistachio croissant is definitely their specialty. The croissant itself was more bread-y and less of the tender flakes I've gotten used to in Europe, but tasty in its own way. The neon green pistachio filling is a bit too bright for my taste, but really enjoyed the pistachio crumb topping on top. Also one of the largest coffee syrup selections I have seen. Service was nice and quick, granted, I was here 830 on a Sunday morning lol. The weather was perfect for sitting on their rocking bench outside to enjoy the sunshine with breakfast!
