La Palma Mexicana #2

This place is excellent. Although they have a few Tex Mex plates, this is authentic, tasty Mexican food! You may have to wait because everything is prepared fresh and is homemade. The salsa is spicy and delicious. Can’t wait to come back to try the breakfast tacos.

I would easily give this place 4 stars on any given day but this morning I’m not able to do that. I was promptly seated and served coffee. But soon after that, the family sitting in the booth behind me would not control their child as he threw a toy car around the dining room and constantly acted out loudly, as many children do. I eventually got up and moved, but it wasn’t enough. And to add insult to injury, it took a very long time for my huevos rancheros to arrive at my table. Once my food arrived, I was a bit irritated. Plus my huevos rancheros was just satisfactory. I’ve had better. The staff is nice but not very attentive. I’ll be back because this place has awesome tacos. And I’m sure there are other menu items that are just as good. After my next trip here, I’m betting I raise my rating to at least 4 stars.

Genuinely some of the best fajitas and red salsa I’ve had in the area. Beef melts in your mouth, the salsa is an incredible balance of heat and flavor, and the service was downright excellent. Come here if you want a homey, relaxed experience and staff that know their menu like the back of their hand. I was genuinely impressed with our servers knowledge of the menu and recommendations. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping in.

Just don’t! This was our first meal arriving to Texas after a long day of traveling. The served acted like he was completely annoyed we were there. I wish we would have just turned around and walked out after the awkward greeting we received. . We had to ask for chips and when we finally got them, they were VERY stale and hard. We ate them anyways because everyone was so hungry. We got one small half filled basket for a table of 6 adults and another small half filled one for a table of 5 older kids. When we asked for more, the next ones were visibly burnt but somehow tasted better than the first ones. Again, we ate them because we were starving. The only good thing about the entire meal was the salsa. My dish, the enchiladas were horrific. It should have been VERY obvious there was an issue because none of us ate our food. None of our kids were able to eat their meals because they were just gross. My step mom didn’t even receive her Gordita until everyone that could eat their meals was done. The only thing edible on my plate was the small pile of lettuce and sour cream. The beans and rice were gross as well. I had to make food when we got to our bnb. We eat at Mexican restaurants a lot because it is our favorite. This experience was horrible. The server was horrible and most importantly the food was terrible. Just do not go here!!!!

By far the best Mexican Restaurant I’ve eaten anywhere. This is one of those whole in the wall places that will blow you away. Everything is homemade in house. The chips and salsa are Fresh and outstanding. The homemade tortillas are simply to die for. I had the carne de asada. The meat was super tender and well seasoned. The Mexican enchiladas with verde sauce blew the doors off the wagon. Don’t miss this hidden gem if your anywhere in the area. You will not be disappointed !!
