Great Mexican food, also my favorite place in town for burgers Always stellar
Went here on Sunday starving and hoping for a decent meal. Starving for me usually means even mediocre will taste good. I got the combo plate with taco, green chili and 2 enchiladas. I needed a separate bowl for the water (not gravy, but water from the green chili “stew”) that my food was swimming in - the green chili was tasteless and threatened to make what I hoped I would be good enough enchiladas into a soggy mess. What a disappointment, as they were made with some bland cheese, and the fried egg on top did nothing to elevate the sad enchiladas. I took one bite of the overcooked rice and super thick refried beans and just gave up. Even my pork taco was tasteless and uninspired. It’s not hard to make tacos, but you do need to start with flavorful meat and fresh tortillas (pork was bland, tortilla was stale). The ONLY thing I enjoyed were the chips (salsa was passable but seemed a little like something you’d buy from a jar), and our server who was attentive, offering to bring something else. I politely refused, it wasn’t worth waiting for and my confidence the next dish would be any better was at 0%. I’d much rather see fewer offerings on the menu with a focus on quality rather than a massive selection of dishes so poorly executed.
The food was good. It was a very generous plate. The green sauce is delicious ????. The price was quite reasonable.
I didn't eat in, I took it to go. The greeting was nice, and the service was on point. The place is a little hole in the wall, but it was okay. When I got home and started to eat, the pozole was a bit too salty for my taste, but edible. And the so called Mexican rice definitely didn't look like Mexican rice and was very blah. I'll have to try something different from there next time to really make my decision if I'll eat there again.
The food is not authentic but tastes fine and my wife likes it. It is overpriced. Have witnessed a few of the young Hispanic guys who work in the kitchen out in their trucks smoking weed on breaks. I guess the owner doesn't test for drugs. Kinda grosses me out that they're handling food. I'm good friends with a business owner a block away that is about ready to sue for public nuisance because of the smell and the music blasted from their trucks in front of their businesses. No professional courtesy, which is bad business sense in a small town.
