Joni's Diner was a nice experience. Staff was super friendly and all smiles. The Breakfast Burrito, Scrambled Eggs, Bacon and hashbrowns were good. The Corned Beef Hash was ok but just wasn't what I was expecting. It was fresh and flavorful though. The diner is on the smaller size so it was quite crowded and seating is tight. I would eat here again when in the area.
Great diner! Excellent food - all the favorites (Denver Omlet, pancakes, French toast) you would expect from your hometown diner plus some surprises (potato pancakes!!). The service was great even though it was packed. There is counter seating and table/booth seating. If you’re coming on a Sunday morning, bring your appetite and a little patience. It’s well worth the wait!!
Been longing to try this old school diner for well over a year now and this past July during the week of Independence Day, I finally made it. I read up about this 50s wonder from its start in small town PA to CT and then finally all the way to touristy Lake Geneva. The feeling of dining in a piece of Americana that'll be turning 70 next year is just a great feeling. My family and I enjoyed the food and I really wanna get my folks here who were both born in the early 50s, I know they'd love it. Clean/sanitized dining area, exceptional & friendly service, great food at still reasonable prices and an unforgettable vibe make this a must while visiting LG. Not sure when we'll be back in town but I can't wait to try something different the next time I dine in this museum piece. I wish for continued success and prosperity for the owner(s).
Cute little diner! All original bar and terrazzo floors. Read the top of the menu. Greeted right away on a Wednesday late morning. Seated right away. Linda, our waitress, was nice and helpful. Food came out in less then 10 minutes. We had the country combo and griddle combo with a side order of hash browns. Gravy and sausage was a nice flavor that you normally don’t taste with most gravy’s. Had more of a mild Italian taste. Pancakes were fluffy and warm. Eggs were normal and we got crispy bacon just how we ordered it. While sitting and waiting we saw this deep dish apple pie slice in the case. We split a piece and it was delicious. Apples were tender and full of cinnamon. The top was more like an apple crisp. It’s made in a spring form pan. Recommend the pie! Place was clean and neat. Locals were friendly and helped suggest a place when they overheard our conversation. One of things I love about the Midwest! I’m sure weekends are busy since it’s limited on the amount of seating/parking. Great little diner tucked away around the fast food joints.
Being from the East Coast I know what a diner should be... Joni's is what a diner should be. Our first time here but, clearly, the locals know this is the place to be. I had the waffle with pecans and my wife had the stuffed french toast. She said it was one of the best breakfast items ever. My waffle was perfect and my side of "country ham" just what I wanted. Our waitress was attentive, polite and dealt with a couple of first timers, and our questions, with great courtesy. An excellent value as well.
