Jimmy's Greek American Grill

I’ve been coming here ever since they opened in the mall. I never made it to their former location. The recent owner, a former cook for Jimmy, is a nice guy. He still does the cooking and he takes a lot of pride in his food. The only thing we get are the fried grouper sandwiches. Very basic, perfectly fried filet on a sesame burger roll with iceberg lettuce, sliced onions and sliced tomatoes. I think you can get it with tartar sauce, but I forgo that and just slather it with the hot sauce they provide. I’ve noticed the last time we were there, the fish filet was slightly smaller than before, and the tomato was a bit hard, but the price is still reasonable and the people are always nice, so no complaints overall. The food court at the mall is always clean and well maintained. It’s airy and wide open. Always a pleasant experience.

I ordered the gyro plate. Food was good. Gyro meat had a little too much pepper for my taste. Love the homemade fries.

Thoroughly tuckered out after a hard day of cleaning and organizing our house - ordered a delivery. WOW! Best Gyro I’ve had in years. Great Greek salad. Flavorful dolmades (grape leaves) and baklava is finish it off. Delicious, even after a bit of a road trip for delivery. Can’t wait to get some fresh at the source.

I was so pleased to hear that Jimmy the Greek’s restaurant was not closed. Rather, they have a restaurant in the food court of the Lakeshore Mall in Sebring. I popped in for a quick gyro. The man at the counter was super friendly, I spoke with him briefly and ordered my gyro. He wanted to know if I wanted the platter or just the sandwich. I told him just the sandwich. That was a mistake! I saw others with the french fries, and the salad, which looked splendid! No problem as I will be returning often to get more of Jimmy’s food! I only gave two stars for atmosphere because let’s face it, it’s a mall. ????

Grouper dinner was excellent! Came with a side and either soup or salad. Fries and potato salad were so good. And woman at the counter was extremely nice! Will return for sure.
