Passed by thinking this would be a great place to eat as there were many cars parked here. Ordered food to find out they were out of kebabs. Kiddo (18y) Ordered seafood platter and I the soup and feta omelette. Soup was great Food was cold by the time we got it and platter was over fried We won't be going back
My family and I have enjoyed going there for breakfast in the past. So we decided to try Jay's Diner one evening for dinner. We'd had a busy day and hadn't eaten since breakfast, we were starving. The food was absolutely awful. We ordered a cheese steak sandwich and fries, Mushroom Swiss burger with fries, a haddock sandwich with fries and a boiled haddock with a side of broccoli. My fries came out dark brown, cold and mushy like they've been sitting out all day. My sons were just so so, a little fresher. The haddock sandwich was rubbery. My husband's broccoli was cooked to almost mush. My son's Mushroom Swiss burger was terrible and almost as thin as a McDonald's burger. In fact a McDonald's burger would have been more enjoyable. He said it just had a couple of slimy mushrooms on it and a piece of cheese. We were extremely disappointed but so hungry we went ahead and ate it. I did complain to the server and a manager. We did not expect to be not charged because we did eat it. The server was very polite and apologetic but the manager was rude and argumentative. She rudely told me the fries were just cooked in the last 10 minutes but our meal had been served well more than 10 minutes before and those fries were very old. She had a terrible attitude. Made no apologies or accepted any feedback. We will never go back not even for breakfast.
I ordered the stuffed French toast here. It was yummy. The cream cheese filling was very good, however, it could be a tad sweeter. I have had numerous stuffed French toasts over my lifetime, and I would definitely come back to the diner to order this French toast again!
Great staff and a very friendly vibe. The atmosphere was a '50s throwback theme. The service was very nice and warm. The food, breakfast, was a bit greasy for my taste but you may live it. The prices are pocket friendly so overall a good place to go.
The best diner in the Rochester area hands down. The food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. They have an extensive menu and it’s all delicious. We had Sarah as our waitress and she was absolutely amazing! She even brought us extra pickles which is a plus in my book! 100% recommend this place!!
