El Potro Mexican Restaurant

Visited this place for the first time this week, on a whim, and it did NOT disappoint! Service was spectacular - food came out quick, and it was fresh and hot! The chips and salsa - yummmmmmmmers! I will most definitely vist this place more often!!!!! Edit- 4.14.2025 Came here again. Ordered the chicken chimichanga. So. Freaking. Good. The chips and salsa were in point. Yummmmmm. The service is outstanding!

our server was great, friendly, fast! our food was a mixed bag. my bf chimi was great, my mole enchiladas were just okay. i think everything could use a little more salt. we’d try this place again:)

Fantastic cuisine. Great service. Get anything with al pastor and you will not be disappointed.

This is a downtown gem I think gets overlooked by the crowded area. I’ve been here multiple times and every time the service is friendly and fast, has a good atmosphere, the food is out fast and has always been delicious. they also have blended margaritas that were great on the 90 degree day I went. For me it’s a must!

Loved this place! Good and authentic Mexican food. Varied menu. Reasonable prices. Free chips and salsa. Good service. Clean restaurant and bathrooms. Convenient location and parking. Will go there again when I pass through Brainerd.
