8/17/23 —-this restaurant is temporarily closed -maybe for vacation . Call ahead of time 4/14/23—UPDATE— New administration— stopped by today because , I found out they now open at 7am, this is perfect for police officers who are now able to start the shift having a great cup of Colombian coffee . The new owners kept the coffee machine , which is awesome . I will miss Laura’s beef the way she used to make it was delicious. Menu is the same , food is still good . I ordered ‘calentao de res’ . What I used to like is that the old owners used to sprinkle a bit of cilantro on the meat , just gave it a nice visual . Brand new plates . More modern looking ! I feel sad that the original owner Roberto’s plates are no longer being used . But things have to change . What is left from Roberto is the coffee machine I highly recommend not getting Rid of it . The coffee there is excellent because of that machine which no other Colombian rest has I went in at around 730ish am. I wasn’t able to stop since last year cause they kept changing the hours starting like at 12pm on some days . This new owners are opening super early, so that is a plus for me . Below is a picture of what I ordered today . You will notice the new plates signaling there is new administration. They also added ‘frituras’ , they had this with the first owner Roberto but the second owners didn’t keep it . Now you can buy empanadas , bonuelos etc . Still is small , nice quaint restaurant. Family owned and trying to keep the first owner Roberto’s dream for this place . February 2/22 today is a Palondrime day . Next will be on 3/3/33 eleven years from. now . They have hígado now . It has not been available in most places even in places in Florida September 2021 - Laura the new manager here is awesome . Very cordial ! I couldn’t even get mad about the fact that they didn’t have liver that day or tres leches by how she treated me . She was very nice and apologized for it. It goes to show you great costumer service goes a long way !!! Kudos to the new administration at El Antojo !!!! 8/3/21 - update - We stopped here after a long trip from New Hampshire. It was very good. My husband had the shellfish soup (sopa de marisco) he said it was excellent . He didn’t complain about the coffee either , and he is a coffee narcissist, so that’s a good sign. I had a el Calentao (still love el Paisa version ) but this is not bad . New management is doing a great job !!! 3/ 21/21-update It has been a while since I have been here . There is new owner. The restaurant has been updated . New layout, managers new staff. The chef is the same lady Olga -she is great and I am glad they kept her. New staff is very cordial. It’s such a difference from the lady they had there before with the old management -that woman was not good as a waitress. She was the Main reason why I didn’t go back . I asked for Hígado encebollado with arepa . Coffee was good -it could be a bit stronger but overall it was good . They are using the same coffee machine which is good cause that machine is great . They serve you coffee in a cup but not like before . You can pay with credit card now . This place was sold about a month an half ago and what a difference . The lady they had there with the old owner was so rude . I am sure a lot of business was lost because of people like that . I am glad they kept Olga snd let the rest go . That place used to be one big chaos ! -old review - The food here is always good . Sometimes it may take a while to wait so if you are in a hurry don’t go unless you have time . My meals are easy to make so I usually don’t have to wait that long . The coffee is good . The traditional way they serve their coffee is in a bowl like you see below. If you don’t ask for your coffee to be serve in a “taza “ they will give you coffee in a styrofoam cup and to me this subtract a lot from your dinning experience at this place. Bonuelos is something I have before my breakfast , and it’s a type of bread with cheese in it . It’s very good . But only have one lots of calories in it !es
The location is not too fancy. Just plain diner type style but they seem to have a full bar available. We came with a larger party of 8, which they could easily accommodate though they maybe didn’t have enough staff for it at the time we still enjoyed ourselves.
I love this Latin restaurant, we went with some friends for the first time, the dishes were delicious, the service was great and also exquisite cocktails. I was able to pay by credit card and on Friday they have Karaoke. I recommend it.
One of several authentic Colombian sitdown spots in CF. Full bar. Super empanadas available
It breaks my heart to leave this review. What once was a favorite spot of my wife and I is now a reminder of the friendly staff and owner/cook who no longer dish out what in my opinion was the best Colombian food in Central Falls. Since the original owner retired and sold the establishment the food and ambiance has not come close. The facelift to the location unfortunately came with significant changes to the quality of the food.
