Food was very good, it is a true small town cafe. Seemed to be popular lunch place, with very affordable prices. A nice, antique decor with a good variety of nostalgic collectables. The service can be a little slow, as they often do not have many wait staff working, but they are friendly and do the best they can. Food quality was very good, it's very home-style, very much a mashed potato and gravy kind of place. Our lunch came with a dessert included as well. And for a very reasonable price, less than $9 a plate.
We like to patronize the locally-owned diners & restaurants as we drive across the country & the Eagle Cafe was lovely. They made us tuna melts, even tho it wasn't on the menu & were interesting to talk with, downtown Barnesville
very good service. i had a potato pancake and it was packed with real shredded potatoes. two of us ate a filling breakfast cooked perfectly with coffee for under $20.00. We are not locals and were treated well. p. s. lots of coffee refills too.
To me it seems like they don't give people from out of town as much love as they do the locals. It took us an hour to get our food and even then the food was not all that fantastic. Not much added to the grub in terms of seasoning if any at all & the portions were smaller than I expected. If there is one saving grace it's their giant fluffy pancakes so I suggest you order those!
The food is quite good and portions are adequate, have had breakfast only so far, so can't rate the afternoon or dinner menu items...the service is fair, to poor with the usual small joint humorless matronly waitron doing the serving...the food is a little pricey hitting $35 to $40 for a couple for breakfast. The place is a walk back in time and I like it. As long as the food is good (and hot when it arrives at the table) we'll be back...
