Double D Burger

I can only give this restaurant 3 stars. I have always wondered what the experience and the food was like at this small town diner. I was not impressed. I only ordered a sausage and cheese biscuit. It was ok but not any better than McDonald’s sausage and cheese. In fact I think McDonald’s actually has a much better taste. I went through the drive through. From the front of the building it looks nice. You pull up to the drive through and wonder if you’re in the right spot to order. Then you look at their menu and notice how run down it is. I waited for a minute which didn’t help me wondering if I need to wait to order or pull on through to the window as they have no signs saying otherwise. It wasn’t a long wait, just long enough to make you wonder. I got to the window and got my food. The lady in drive through was nice. I still might have given them one more star but they do close at 2 pm and in my opinion I think anyone needs to be open longer hours if they are going to have a restaurant. I haven’t tried their lunch menu or anything else so I can’t rate any of that. This is my first (and probably last time) visiting Double D’S. It wasn’t a bad experience but they were nothing that made me want to come back for a second round.

The food was OK. Nothing to write home about. The staff was friendly but their prices were a little ridiculous. Right around $17 for a double bacon cheese burger with onion rings. This isn't Chili's or Applebee's "food quality or atmosphere."

I used to have a great review of Double D Burger... I quit going there for breakfast and lunch because I always get charged more that I was told by the cashier... By about eight percent. It's a small business, and I get it... They don't have the infrastructure to have a perfect merchant services account. That said, the last three times I went there, I was told an amount, which was fine, then I check my account and it's a dollar or two higher than I was told at the window. The food is pretty good, but the menu prices need to be corrected on the drive-thru sign, and the amount they say at the window should be the amount charged... Not the cash price, not before tax, not some imaginary number... The ACTUAL price. I'm probably never going back.

My family and I eat here frequently, it’s close to my university’s campus, great comfort/southern food usually. Today I was so excited for a veggie plate with their Mac and cheese and broccoli casserole only to be given cheesy rice and the largest stem of broccoli I have ever seen. No broccoli just the huge hard stalk I can’t even bite into. The green beans are crunchy/hard and tastes like they were only cooked for 60 seconds. The Mac n cheese tastes like chalk and has the consistency of chalk. Idk who’s in kitchen today but never have I EVER had food this bad. I can’t even eat my lunch. Worst time spent between classes getting food I can’t eat. Like I said, usually the food is amazing but today was horrible. So excited for broccoli casserole but was given just a big stalk with cheese on it. Super disappointed. :( it’s basically the size of my hand lol

The best burger around.
