The tastiest pupusas I've had since El Salvador. Highly recommended.

1/4/25 - I used to love this place but the last 3 times that I went the food doesn't taste the same. I used to be a regular but all of the sudden the food is tasteless. The beans are watery and the grilled chicken is bland. They must've changed the chef or recipes. The staff seem miserable and annoyed. 2023 - The puposas are awesome! The black bean with cheese and chicken with cheese are my favorites. Alto de elote is a must try! All dishes are made to order. Super fresh and big portions. The waitstaff are nice and friendly.

Honestly, the pupusas are decent, but the service was…really not. Somewhat rude (to me, but not to my husband - interestingly) and unwilling to let customers order certain items b/c their preparation is too much work. (Shakes and coffee, in case you’re wondering.) Don’t have it on your menu if you’re unwilling to make it and/or note that they’re only available at certain times. Also, don’t be rude to people. For what it’s worth, you can get better pupusas/food and better service at other places on Bergenline.

It’s like a time machine that takes you places and this will take you to Salvador to try some of the mast authentic dishes. The moment you push the door that says Cash only and you step in you are in for a treat. This first was my place to pick up my morning coffee con Leche and since I stopped drinking coffee I still stop by and get some lunch or just when I am in the mood for some pupusas. If you like to travel and can’t just go there and enjoy some great time in Salvador. 5 stars and definitely recommend it.

This place is nothing fancy but their food is excellent.
