Pictured is the red snapper with baked sweet potato and asparagus, salmon with double cole slaw, and gumbo dinner plate with jalapeno cornbread. This is our third visit here within 2 months because the food was so good the last 2 visits that I forgot to take pictures. This place feels like a hidden treasure to us. It’s mostly because we don’t really drive to Eufaula. But we will now just for this restaurant. The theme within their menu is Cajun style and it is amazing. I grew up with a Cajun parent and have not been able to find any Cajun food since. This place brought up beautiful memories as soon as I took a bite. It’s as authentic as you can find in this area. I can’t recommend this place enough. Cost was $50 for all 3 entrees. In my opinion, that’s average in today’s economy. View that in your own perspective. Highly recommend.
Amazing, does not do this place justice. The rolls were soft buttery pillows with a good whipped butter. We had the 2lb shrimp boil and crawlfish ettuffe. The shrimp boil was perfectly cooked. Came with a clarified butter sauce and a sweet shrimp. I definitely wish I had the sweet sauce recipe. The crawlfish ettuffe had this monster brick of jalapeño and cheese cornbread. In my opinion, it needed hotsauce but that was my taste. This was a date meal out with no kids and it was worth ever cent I paid. I willmark recommendations of what I saw and smelled in the restaurant.
We're visiting so we didn't know the opening time and got there at 3:20. They didn't open until 4pm so we patiently waited 40 minutes in the car. So glad we did. We got Ribeye dinner, chicken tenders, and blackened salmon. The food was deliciously delicious. Waitress was patient and attentive. The dining atmosphere was so relaxing even with kids and the lake view is beautiful. During our meal a man, owner or manager, came by and checked on us. He seemed like he really cares about our food, our visit, rather than just taking a poll! Well-done Captain John's! Oh BTW, we got unlimited steaming hot rolls with butter before dinner.
In dire need of sensible bar tender at judging people’s age, at least within a decade or two. We eat here nearly every week and wife is nearly 40. She demanded to see ID to set at the bar (to have water and tea with our meal so we didn’t have to wait for an open table) so we provided a picture of it from her phone. Wasn’t good enough, so another waitress verified that she was well over 21 from past service, still not good enough. Bar tender didn’t ID anyone else while were there as 12 people came and went to the bar. Thanks for our anniversary hospitality.
We went last night with friends for our reservation in the new patio igloos! Such a fun experience. They had games and a fireplace in each igloo and it was well lit. They had 1 dining and 2 lounge igloos. You have to make a reservation and it is for 2 hours for $40. The wait staff was excellent and we never had to wait long for anything. The floor manager even came by to check on us. Food was delicious as always.
