C J's BBQ

We had the mac n cheese, potato salad, ribs, pulled pork, yams, and cobbler. Food was definitely below mid. No flavor in the Mac n cheese just tasted like pasta with melted cheese, no creaminess. Potato salad was okay, a little too sweet for my liking. Ribs and pulled pork were overcooked but the bbq sauce was good. Yams were over seasoned with cinnamon but were cooked good. Cobbler was alright. Hawaiian roll was good. Food 2/5 stars. Delivery service was 5/5, quick.

I've been coming here for years and the food is consistently excellent. The BBQ has that "bark" that you only get from long hours in the smoker but is tender and succulent at the same time. They also make good sandwiches (try the Philly cheese steak) and burgers (the BBQ burger w/avocado is my favorite). And they have a surprisingly good selection of fish dishes too including a seafood gumbo that is excellent. Outdoor dining at picnic tables or take-away are your only options. They closed their indoor dining room during the pandemic and remodeled to expand the kitchen instead.

Girl at register was rude Mac and cheese serving is tiny and greasy no flavor the meat had no flavor bread was super soggy no thanks never coming back

Great place to eat. The staff is friendly, nice atmosphere with a jazz theme and the service was great. This was my first time going here and the food was great. The BBQ chicken is a must have. The chicken was tender and moist. The ribs was delicious with its sweet BBQ sauce and Mac and cheese was not bad. Their peach cobbler was amazing with the vanilla bean ice cream.

Same great food and service that we've come to expect. We first started ordering from CJ's when they were in Ventura, and drive to their current location from Camarillo.
