Butterhills Cafe Northbrook

We went in and got a seat and by the time 2 minutes had passed we had someone taking our order. The staff are on point and great. This was a completely custom order so get it, I got chocolate chip pancakes with whipped cream, choped bananas, and a chocolate drizzle (the picture below). I was expecting to get 2 stacks mabey 3 but they gave me 4 STACKS. I could barely finish half of it. Someone needs to get these people an award for best pancakes because 4 stacks is crazy, and It was ABSOLUTELY HEAVENLY. 5 stars, would highly recommend, and I will be coming back soon.

Best breakfast/brunch food around. Generous portions, consistently delicious! Great service and vibe. Love the gluten-free pancakes (I add chocolate chips, too!) or gluten-free toast to go along as a side to my date/goat cheese omelette! The California scrambler with avocado/chicken/bacon is also delicious! Anyone I bring with me wants to go back. I’ve also gotten this to go and just as fabulously made! It’s great to have a family-run, superb breakfast place in our area with GF options and even goat cheese for those of us allergic to cow’s milk. Thank you!

Butter hills is amazing at all times. I have eaten here 100s of times and the food is always fresh and amazing. The prices are very fair and the service is always quick and efficient. If you are in a hurry and need to be at an appointment let them know and they will get you fed and on your way. The standard wait time for food after ordered is less than 5 minutes. The kitchen and front of the restaurant is a well oiled machine. Wait can be up to 10 minutes during busy times but worth the wait.

Main meals were great. Pancakes and homemade biscuits were nothing to write home about. Got seating immediately at 9am on a Sunday. Got a lot of food for the money, although the basic coffee was a little pricey. Would go again and try many of the other items that sounded great.

Possibly the worst breakfast spot I ever been to. I will give benefit of doubt it was just maybe bad day but wow, food waa horrendous. First, they charge for hot water, like seriously? Cold day, needed hot water so did order anyway, as you can see on receipt, charged $1 for each hot water we ordered. Second, look at that size of green bell pepper cut on the omelet. Because its so big and wasn't cooked long enough, it was like eating raw. These hash browns were the most dried up hash browns ever. I didn't even take more than 3 bites of that. These pancakes had a lot of flour tastes, look at how those are glued together. Not fluffy at all, couldn't separate them. Egg benedict, I mean it was like having over hard egg on top, not poached egg where yolk should be dripping after cut. They really need to up their food. Horrible experience.
