Buckingham Lake Park

Buckingham Lake Park is a cute spot for relaxation. It's a great place to walk, with a nice path that loops around the lake. In the fall, the scenery is absolutely gorgeous with all the colorful leaves reflecting on the water. I've also spotted a variety of birds here, which is a treat for birdwatchers. The pond is good for fishing, and the sunsets are simply stunning – definitely worth sticking around for! Highly recommend this park for a bit of nature in the city.

Absolutely love Buckingham Park Lake! It's a serene oasis nestled in Albany's heart, offering a safe haven for families. The play area is fantastic, catering to kids of all ages, and the option to fish in the lake is a definite plus. Plus, it's dog-friendly, making it perfect for our furry friends too. The walking track offers stunning views amidst lush vegetation, with wildlife sightings adding to the charm. Recent renovations showcase the commitment to maintaining this gem. While the picnic area is great, it'd be perfect with BBQ grills. The only downside is the lack of onsite bathrooms, but overall, it's a wonderful spot for outdoor enjoyment.

If you live in the area it’s a great asset. Relatively short loop around the water, with woody area. if you’re looking for a long walk, this place is not it. Lots of ducks and geese. Love watching the lil families grow through out the seasons. The pond can get pretty algae heavy in the summer time. Beautiful when covered in ice too. Nice place for sunsets. Large child’s playground.

Beautiful pond with a walking trail that loops all the way around. Plenty of wildlife and a few trails that cut through the woods, which is especially beautiful during the winter after a snow shower (appropriate shoes/boots highly recommended). There’s a playground/swing set, a Little Library, picnic tables and benches. During the summer months an ice cream truck will regularly park in the lot for a bit. Very dog-friendly, with signs that warn of fines if dogs aren’t leashed or picked up after, and a number to call to report violators. Most dogs I’ve seen are very well behaved with responsible owners. -1 Star because I wish there were more trash/recycling bins adjacent to the spots people fish (like the benches on the far left of the pond), because so much trash gets left behind. I’d even clean it up myself if there was a bin there, but it’s unsafe/unsanitary trash (used fishing hooks, rubber gloves, glass bottles, etc) that I wouldn’t want to carry to a bin a farther distance away.

I live eight blocks from that place, y I started taking mi pooch there! He loves those geese y the pooches that come through. I like it myself! GARCIAS!??????????
