Boomerangs

My friend and my four year old ate at Boomerangs around 7PM on 12/22. The timing is important - The food was fantastic and the service was good. However, the overhead music was playing songs with explicit content and I'm not talking one or two f-Bombs. I don't consider myself a prude by any stretch but when I have a four year old with me, in a FAMILY establishment at a decent hour, I don't want to hear "My d*** is bigger than a bridge, your d*** looks like a little kids" over the speakers. We were told by the waitress that there is a TouchTunes system in place to draw college students in from Purdue and if they pay for a song it plays the explicit version. That would be well and good if Boomerangs was a BAR only OR it was after 10 PM. It was neither. Consider updating your TouchTunes to something less gross for children to hear or set a time when explicit content can be started and families don't have to hear it....

The server just hung out with his friends. He completed ignored the empty drinks when our food arrived. I waited 10 minutes and then got a refill at the bar. Will not be returning. Chips and queso was good I had ahi tacos and they were good. The Mac and cheese was pretty dry, maybe I caught it at a bad time.

I came here for lunch today. I looked up previous reviews, photos, the menu and decided to eat here. I was greeted and seated as soon as I came in the door. My server, Jamah, was so nice and helpful with the menu. I started off with the tobacco old fashioned, it was delicious. I had the Philly Cheese steak with mac and cheese. The Philly was piping hot with perfectly caramelized onions, bell peppers that still had a little crunch and melted cheese. The mac and cheese had a little heat it along with melty deliciousness! I finished off with the carrot cake with carmel drizzle. It was creamy and rich. Over all the atmosphere was welcoming and even though it was lunchtime it was relaxing. Will definitely be back. Excellent food and atmosphere. Our server was friendly and had lots of great suggestions. Ample portions and options to choose from. We have never been disappointed here, everything is wonderful. The staff are on top of things without being in the way, the food is delicious and the music is fitting dor the atmosphere.

Parking is not ideal for this applebees-esque family/friends sports grill, but the prices, taste, and service are all great. The only thing I've ever been unimpressed with is the burgers. I'm not convinced they aren't pre-made (I'm wrong, see reply). The Philly cheese, however, was probably the best I've ever had anywhere. Good place for watching sports! Also the Buffalo nachos appetizer is huge, you'll need help.
