Blackies Gas Stop

The food was very tasty. The wait time was a little longer than expected. I also was charged an extra 1.20 per order of wings because I chose naked. That wasn't disclosed to me at the time of ordering. Seems ridiculous to pay extra for less but it is what it is. Drinks were good but 6.75 a beer is also a little high in my opinion. Was a nice stop on our motorcycles. The indoor outdoor atmosphere was the best feature. We enjoyed ourselves but will be aware of high prices if we decide to stop again in the future.

A very fun and friendly place with live music and a full bar. Lots of parking, a cigar bar out back, outdoor seating area with corn hole, and a stage behind the building. The wait staff and bartender were kind and helpful in selecting our order. The food was hot, fresh, and quick. Def will be back. Check it out recommended!

Finally stopped in on our way to south Texas. Awesome location to begin with. Atmosphere is spot on for the area and local people. Very warm and inviting. Patrons actually speak to one another including the bar staff! Britney was sweet, friendly, witty and spunky! Loved her vibe and attentive nature. Jayden was friendly and gave great conversation with all of us at the bar. The food, a bit pricey. But it IS Glen Rose! BBQ ribs and brisket with potato salad as the side. 4 outta 5 on the bbq. Potato salad was tasty. There was enough to take home and eat on the next day. Beer was cold, atmosphere was awesome, staff was hella cool and I even got a Blackies ball cap! I will make this my south Texas route my stop from now on. Stop in, have a cold beer and tell em Vince sent ya! They no doubt will remember me!! Love this joint and I think you will too!

I have been here a dozen times and it’s normally decent and worth the money. After not returning for over a year, this experience was very poor. Sat outside which is a nice area, but the waitress was not attentive and forgot to bring out ordered drinks and appetizers. When the main entrees arrived the fries were stale and tasted as if they were pre made with the day before. We had to send a margarita back that had soap covered on one side of the glass. Not sure if we will be back, it used to be better. The poor service and quality of food aside, the bloody Mary’s were top notch.
