The food was really good and came out pretty fast. Our waitress was great and worked the entire place by herself. The caramel latte was really good. Even my wife who isn't a coffee drinker enjoyed it. The food might be priced a little high but honestly everything was really good and it's nice to have someplace local to go. So it didn't bother me. It's easier to park behind the building than in the square. Parking is also free
This was our first time going to The Black Rose Cafe. My oldest son had really wanted to try it for a few weeks now so we came on a Saturday after the lunch crowd had died down. There were only 2 other tables and 3 waitresses with a guy tending the bar. Our orders were taken quickly however they brought my youngest autistic son's food 15 min after everyone else's. Most restaurants that charge this price point should know to either bring small childrens food first or bring all the food at the same time. They weren't busy enough to warrant that. I ordered vegetarian tacos and was charged the price of the meat ones. Drinks are can drinks only unless you order a bar drink. Which are 3.00 each for a can of sprite. The food itself however was very good although they did leave the cheese off of my tacos, she didn't write down the orders so that was probably the reason. My oldest son loved what he ordered and I was happy for that, however with the service we had well just get it to go next time. Restaurants should really know to not bring the childs food out last, especially a 15 min time difference. If it hadn't been for that I wouldn't have wrote this review.
I love this place. The food is fresh and always good and it's possible to eat very healthy here. Of course, they have options that aren't as healthy, but they're absolutely delicious. I go there about once a week and I've tried a variety of things on the menu, but my favorite is the chicken breakfast bowl. The fried plantains on top are a nice touch. The shrimp quesadilla is really good too. The staff are very friendly. Highly recommend.
Black Rose Cafe & Bar is small and cozy. You can sit and watch the train go by while waiting for your meal. We went for the breakfast which serves authentic Mexican cuisine. Great, the Gourmet Coffee Options with chocolate mocha and Chai latte different tasting. However, the citrus refresher was awesome. My favorite was the pancakes fluffy and tasty with real maple syrup. The potatoes were kind of salty. Bacon and sausage with egg my friend said was just right.
We just moved back to the area and wanted to try a breakfast / brunch place but we had our dog with us. I called ahead and they told me we could sit outside with him. When we arrived, she had my menus ready and sat us down. Service was impeccable, the food was not only delicious but plated beautifully (giving it that extra touch means a lot for me). We will definitely be back when we are dog free so we can enjoy the inside next time. ????
