What a gem of a bait shop you have in the Algonquin area. This place have just about everything one would need to fish lakes, ponds, rivers or Lake Michigan. The pricing was very reasonable which usually isn't true with small bait shops. Give this place a try and go in and check out the goods.

Great bait shop!!!!! Lots of products. Great customer service and his knowledge of local waters/conditions is awesome!!!!!! Stopped in to grab a few things apparently 11 months since my last review. This place is a cool little bait shop. It's packed with what you need, and healthy live bait. The guy is nice, and knowledgeable and money can't buy that.

The Bait Shanty has you covered for open water fishing and ice fishing needs. If they don't have what you're looking for they will special order it for you. Also I just found out they are an authorized Daiwa dealer. They have Kage rods in stock! I've been coming to The Bait Shanty for years, and I've never been disappointed. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and they have a great selection of bait, tackle, and fishing gear. I recently went in to buy some new lures, and Larry was very knowledgeable about the different types of lures and what they're best for. He helped me pick out a few lures that he thought would be perfect for the type of fishing I was doing, and I ended up catching a lot of fish that day and limiting out. I would highly recommend The Bait Shanty to anyone who is looking for a great place to buy fishing supplies.
