B's Barbecue

ALERT: TOP TEN ENTRY FOR CHICKEN NATIONWIDE. You know that you are going someplace special when you turn off the main highway and it's B's Barbeque Road that takes you to your destination! And B's fully lived up to our expectations; indeed, my significant other needed only one bite of the smoked chicken to proclaim it the best that she had tasted anywhere in the country. And this was the 359th BBQ stop in a journey spanning 35 states. We ordered half a chicken and a mountain of chopped pork, with sides of coleslaw and green beans to go with finger shaped hush puppies. Add in a couple of refillable teas, and the whole came to the modest sum of $18.50. The chopped pork is classic East Carolina, and so is the sauce. Since the richly smoked meat is already lightly sauced, you really, really want to sample it before adding more. The green beans didn't impress us, but we liked the hush puppies and loved the coleslaw, which is that cold, palate cleansing bite that we always prize when eating two or more meats at a sitting. How good was the meal? We went back for seconds, and got the last chicken about 90 minutes after they opened. GO EARLY!

Now I know why they named the street after this place... Now this is barbecue with no question and no doubt. I tried the sandwich and I had to go back for another. The service was quick and friendly. Plenty of parking space and easy to find. I will be going back for more and more.8

Was driving through town and saw a long line in front of this little hidden gem! Decided to stop and check out the excitement! Fried chicken sold out (bet that was yummy) but I was there for a BBQ Sandwich, which didn't disappoint and I added a few corn sticks! Heck Ya, perfect spot for lunch!

They can take all of my money. NC vinegar based bbq. Others call it pulled pork. Great customer service. The line is always to the street. Park on the side of the road because it is on a corner with no parking. $12 combo plates

As good as it gets in the BBQ world. I was a little skeptical about BBQ sauce that wasn't red, but their sauce on their pulled pork is out of this world good. Get there early and buy twice as much as you think you'll eat because if not they'll be closed and you'll be sad.
