I attended a picnic and decided to check out the park. When we drove in, there was a man dressed up, entertaining children in the park with big bubbles!!! In the back is a "mountain" for bicycles only. No skateboarding. The restroom toward the front was open and in acceptable condition. The bathrooms in the back were closed. Overall, it's a nice sized park for small events like birthday parties or a graduation.
Cool little place to go for a walk. Its beautiful and quiet
Loved the park and the trail to downtown along the creek! Lots to see and discover. Another Prescott hidden gem. Don’t believe the reviews about all of the scary homeless and drugs. A few older homeless guys riding bikes, but were polite and quiet!
This is an interesting park. It took around 30 years to finally complete it. For more information about the parks history Google, " the evolution of A.C. Williams." This is a great place to enjoy an interactive reading experience with your child or grandbabies. For more information Google, "Story Walk Granite Creek" This will take you to the Prescott Library home page. Then scroll down until you reach the Story Walk section. The story Walk follows the walking trail along the perimeter of the park which connects to the entrance of the ever expanding, Greenway Trail System. Simply walk under the bridge and cross the creek. I highly recommend you Google, "Prescott Circle Trail" This will take you to the city of Prescott home page where you can download a GPS enabled map for free! That way you'll know exactly where you are on the Greenway trail as you walk. This map also covers all the various trailheads, Watson lake, Willow lake and the famous Constellation trail to name a few. Back to the park. There's a great playground for the kids. There's also a large Ramada with several picnic tables that can be rented for various events. In addition there's a bicycle "Pump track," basically a track designed so you can travel through the course with minimal pedaling. I also love coming to see and photograph all the amazing trees here! They were here before us and probably be here long after most of us are gone! We entered through the back entrance on Sheldon St. Just park near the 'Staples store'. Go the left and behind the store to reach the entrance gate. As with any park there are homeless people here. I've been here many times early in the morning. I, along with others have left food, water, warm clothes and blankets on the picnic tables inside the Ramada for them. I've never had any negative experiences here with the homeless population. For the most part they're humble, respectful, and appreciative. But it's always best to take all the necessary precautions, especially when bringing children here. Travel Happy ????
Beautiful park with lots of picnic tables, a volleyball sandbox, and access to a hiking trail.
