The Gingerbread House

Food was good. But they told me my water socks with grippies on the bottom weren't shoe enough. I wonder how summers are for footwear at The Gingerbread House.

After a long weekend camping trip, we came in unannounced with 12 people for breakfast, which nearly took over half the restaurant. The staff busted their butts to get us served quickly and efficiently. I ordered the breakfast hash and it had really, really great flavor. Others ordered biscuits and gravy, pancakes, omelettes, etc. Everything was freshly made by the one cook in the back and tasted great. Only complaint was that the hot chocolate was too watery and could be improved with more chocolate and cream. Thank you for accommodating our group!

It appeared to be a family run business - could be mom and daughter... Down home cooking in a home-like atmosphere out in the boonies. The omelet had generous fillings - portions are meant for an athletic teenager. The two of us Medicare-registered youngsters decided to split one order and walked away satiated. Unlikely for me to be passing by here again - I'd have breakfast here in a heartbeat.

The Gingerbread House is a quaint little cafe that serves home-style cooking hot and fresh. I had the Jalapeno Cheese Burger with home-style fries. Small seating area, fresh handmade gingerbread house cookies, and reasonably priced handmade jewelry. Friendly service, public bathroom, plastic & cash accepted. Place your order at the front desk and have a seat for a fresh home-cooked meal. My personal favorite; is the Bacon-Cheese Burger with Jalapenos. Yummy ????

Y'all go now and give this spot all your money and a little bit of patience too ~ one person on staff at the moment delivering quality burgers and shakes in an old timey but cozy (wood burning stove!) digs. Great pitstop ?
