The Fish Place

I grew up in North Texas eating fried catfish regularly. I’ve had good, great, and pretty terrible catfish over the years and The Fish Place’s catfish ranks right up there with the better ones. Filets are a good size and the portions are generous. The cole slaw is a nice vinegar with white pepper. The fries were crisp and the hush puppies were well seasoned. This is definitely a return trip next time we’re in Red Bay for service on the motorhome. It seemed most of their business was take out, but we were there for an early supper. There are about 15 or so seats in the dining room distributed among 4 or 5 tables.

We ordered the Smoked Chicken Spud plate and a side order of Smoked Chicken. It was excellent as usual. If you haven’t tried it you need to do so. You can thank me later. The sides of hushpuppies and slaw were terrific as well. Just the way I prefer them. The price was reasonable and service time was quick and accurate. Will be back soon!

We stopped here by referral by the locals. I must say. This place is a hole in the wall that serves up some of the best Hushpuppies I have ever had in my life. The catfish is top notch and the Chicken is top notch as well. If you don't stop in and have the experience. You are missing out on some good eats.

The locals love their “A Fish Place.” Fish tacos and fried catfish are recommended as well as are the tasty hush puppies. Fresh food, friendly staff and hometown hospitality are found Wednesdays through Saturdays here!

Always so nice, never had a problem with our food. My husband and I get take out here at least 1 day a week my favorite place to eat around here!
