The Bringle Dam

Good place to hang out and look at a little nature. Local artists have decorated the concrete walkway. This is an easy part of the Bringle Lake Nature Trail. Bringle Lake was built by the City of Texarkana as its water supply. With the construction of Lake Wright Patman (then Lake Texarkana), this lake was largely abandoned. There was only the damage and its boat ramp that was cared for. I recommend to walk here to Pass the time.

Nice walk. Careful with dogs over the bridge as the gaps are large enough for their legs to fall through. Lots of painting & graffiti but it’s got character. Trail over dam has lots of (mostly unmarked) intersecting trails, so easy to get “lost” if you were on a mission, but good for wandering. Overall, an okay place for a quiet walk.

This area has a small art park. Local artists have decorated the stone walls and pathways leading through Bringle Lake's water outlet. There are also hiking trails circling the lake that connect to the area. The art being on such unique infastructure is pretty interesting to see.

We took a lovely 5 mile walk around and through the forest and ended up at the spillway. Love the art and the lake view!
