Taco Truck- Los Cunados

These tacos are the real deal! These hit the spot after a long day of driving and when you want authentic Mexican tacos. I was truly impressed by the quality and taste. I honestly had my doubts before we got there since I didn’t expect a taco truck in a small town to have delicious tacos like this. We got there around 7:30 and they were busy, but it was worth the wait. Everything was hot and fresh. I highly recommend them! We got a total of 9 tacos for $23 and an agua fresca for $4. They were very affordable and honestly would have paid more.

I stopped by here yesterday morning when going through Mineral Wells. We pulled up at 9:55. So I waited in the truck until 10:02. To be polite. As I approached the truck I was told, 15 more minutes. Disappointment #1. We weren’t on a time schedule per se but we were in a rush or we would have sat down somewhere and ate. The employee who took my order was extremely friendly and everything. All smiles. All good. I randomly had cash. So I decided to use it. I was unaware that it is the only form of payment they accept until I came here now to read reviews and leave one. I was not informed of this nor did I see a sign of any sort. I ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito. While it was delicious, it was extremely greasy. I had indigestion all day. I’ve eaten, hell I frequently eat some sketchy, spicy, greasy ass stuff and I’ve never experienced anything like that. The thing just continued to ooze more grease than the pictures show. Disappointment #2. Disappointment #3, the size of this thing. As you can see from it being in my hand and being next to the 2oz ramekins. So, I was confused about by total being $12. I bought Red Bull. So, $3 maybe $4. That is most definitely not a $8-9 burrito in my opinion. As far as atmosphere goes, someone had a saw or a grinder on the side of the truck and was just going at it. That doesn’t make people want to sit down and eat there. It also doesn’t make for a pleasant experience for the customers who are waiting on their order and may already be waiting 15 extra min for them to open.

Before you head there, please note this is a CASH ONLY place. Luckily, we had enough cash to buy the delicious food. We tried the chicken burrito without flour/corn tortilla. So the chef made us a shell with cheese! It was so yummy that my six year old went back there the next day just to eat that!! Price is very reasonable for the great tasting food

Edit: Went back the next day and got the tripe torte! It was Fantastic!!! Okay, let just take a moment and appreciate this food truck. ???? It was absolutely delicious, with bursting flavors, generous portions, and fresh tasting goodness in every bite. I got 2 birria, 1 tripe, and a cup of consume for $10. The aroma filled my truck as I was driving home, I gobbled this down instantly. The tripe was my absolute favorite with the green sauce, radishes, splash of lime, and grilled onions dipped in the juice. Oh my gosh!! I look forward to tasting the whole menu.

We ordered 12 tacos for 4 of us. Deliciousness. My only suggestion is order more than you think you'll need because once you start it's hard not to eat more and more. We arrived at lunch time and only had to wait about 15 minutes. With its proximity to the cemetery it would be fun to come and get some tacos on Halloween and stay and eat.
