I finally tried Taco Inc with my SO and we both enjoyed the food. You order at the counter and there are many options. We split Queso and Guacamole with chips, both were quite tasty. I ordered a dish that came with rice, chicken, cheese and a salad of lettuce , tomato, guacamole, cheese, and sour cream on the side. I thoroughly enjoyed it as I like things like that and burrito bowls (which is also on the menu). SO got an El Jefe Burrito that he enjoyed and I did the couple of bites I had as well. It was filled with rice, pork and jalapenos and topped with a salsa verde and chorizo. Various sodas and bottled water is available and prices are moderate. It's a nice addition to Clarion. I enjoyed the various artwork and theme and we will likely be back to try other items on the menu.
** THEY ARE PERMANENTLY CLOSED AND GONE NOW. ** No. That's it. NO. The food has NO flavor, when you order their taco packs, each one is soggy (Hard tacos), have abosolutely NO flavor, the beans....Are sour and gross,...the place needs to bring in actual people that can make their food taste good. At this rate,...no. It's pretty....lack luster and bleck. The staff is the nicest,...total sweethearts, but the food,....NO. Absolutely dreadful.
I tried to like it, went multiple times and ordered different things. Seems like everything has been precooked a little too far in advanced, all the meat I had was dry. Everything is overpriced. I will say that their interior decorating is nice, the little pantry shop is a nice touch, and they do have some really bomb homemade hot sauce (I think). I think maybe they just need time to figure out their best method of prep.
The taco Inc in punxy is completely different. I was excited to see it come to Clarion, but this is only tacos and burritos basically in a more fast food style, which isn't executed well. If this format is kept, please at least grill the meats fresh, maybe work with the local butcher so it is fresh. The service was great, but the execution needs work. Will revisit in a few months to see if the kinks are worked out.
I came in for a late lunch the menu is very limited I ordered a El Jefe burrito and an order of chips and salsa. I asked for a bottled water to buy and all they had was the sugary syrup Mexican sodas no water at all so thankful that I didn't choke on something need to wash it down never been to a restaurant that don't have some kind of water. When the burrito arrived it was hard to cut into the beans are out of a can the meat in it was very fatty not much flavor at all and very expensive at $14 that burrito should have been about five dollars. The order of chips and salsa there were maybe 20 chips and a small little cup of salsa for almost $5 salsa no flavor no heat. So what it comes down to is I don't know what they're calling modern Mexican but there is no such thing Mexican Cuisine has been the same for hundreds of years what they have here isn't working and I'm from Texas I've eaten Mexican food for 55 years so I know what's good and what's bad and what's right and what's wrong so that's my opinion thought I'd let you know I won't be back y'all have a good day
