State Street Pub

My boyfriend and I are in town for some military training and just searched for places to go have a drink decently close to our hotel. We did not realize they were members only, but we explained we were from out of town and they were so welcoming! The bartender and more then one person offered to sponsor us for the night. The bartender was wonderful! Great experience all around.

Not a local and was still great place to grab some drinks. Sam was super helpful! Did a great job!

A great little neighborhood duck-in with friendly staff, pool tables, and great daily specials. A "locals spot" with a lot of heart!

I have never written a negative review of an establishment - even ones I REALLY didn’t like. But the experience I had today is bar none the worst of my entire life. One of the employees who clearly had a bad case of short man syndrome was running off anyone who would try to park in front of the bar. He was horribly rude and offensive and while I can’t help but feel sorry for his obvious insecurities and overcompensation, I would hope the owners would realize that he is not helping his establishment but rather running off people who had initially planned on spending a great deal of money at his bar/restaurant. The end result, the 20 of of us opted to go someplace that was more respectful and professional. It’s a shame because I had been looking forward to coming all week. :(

Tried to get a drink here before The New Brookland Tavern opened but the State Street Pub is a private club. Since no one in our party was a member we couldn't get served. Nothing against the place...looks pretty nice. The bartender was nice but the law is the law and we understood why we could not get drinks there. I'll give them three stars and if in the future I ever get a membership I'll re-rate.
