No.1 China

I was skeptical about visiting because of so many bad reviews it reviews. I'm glad I checked it out anyway. The food and the price were decent. I ordered a variety of dishes: egg foo young with white rice, won ton soup, and steamed dumplings. I received a free egg roll due to my total being over $20. The egg foo young was a little greasy and lacked flavor despite being filled with shrimp, peas and onions. The gravy was the only thing that saved this dish. The won ton soup was good. The steamed dumplings had a different filling than I'm accustomed to. I didn't care for it. The ginger-soy dumpling sauce was spicy and good, which made the dumplings edible. The egg roll had very little filling but it was good. The establishment itself was small but clean. It's to-go or take-out only. I'm willing to visit again in hopes of finding dishes I like better. The food here is delicious! We stop by this restaurant on our way to the beach and on the way home. The prices are also great! We love the shrimp broccoli lunch.

(updated review 2/28/2022) Decor leaves a lot to be desired! It's a pretty dirty restaurant in the front with old soy sauce bottles on the tables. That said the food is passable. Updating 9/27/23 - upgrading the food has improved since I was last here. However the atmosphere still sucks. The service leads a lot to be desired. The staff seems always to be perpetually rushed or not really invested in building customer relations. If you have repeat customer why not try and get to know them? Small talk...whatever. I've found most of these Chinese locations just are about business and not exactly friendly. I'm trying to be constructive here because really I think I've always gotten pretty good food here and its better than Hong Kong near Publix which is one of the worst. The egg foo young here is one of the best I've had. If you want really good takeout Chinese go to Golden China near Food Lion. Bigger menu and the staff is much much friendlier.

My food was wrong when I received my food and instead is making the food over all they did was swap the meat from one dish to the other…. Didn’t appreciate that at all!!!! How hard is it to get an order right!!!!

We had General Tso's combo and Sesame Chicken combo with egg rolls. The service was great and food was ready on time. This was the best Chinese food we have found since moving to the CSRA area 2 years ago. Will definitely make the trip back to Edgefield again!!
