Mississippi Welcome Center, Lauderdale County

I found the Mississippi Welcome Center on I-59/I-20 at Lauderdale to be as beautiful as the State. The building itself is large and styled with large columns. The grounds are very nice and well kept. Within the welcome center are several nice displays from the State. The restrooms are clean and security is provided on site. A very nice rest area.

Horrible place! Stopped here to dump and get water. Nope. Sign says "permanently closed". There are these strange cones, barriers if you want to call them that, all around the the truck parking area. This makes it difficult to maneuver large RVs and big bunk trucks. Less parking is what it equals. Very unfriendly to professional drivers. There is a desperate need in every state for more overnight parking for trucks. Trucks bring everything. Next time your "item" is late or not on the shelf at your store, it might be due to trucks not finding parking and this inturn causes the truck to be late. Especially if there is no local truck stop.

Nice welcome center. Clean inside and out. Bathrooms were clean as well. Cute painted carousel pony. My kids discovered some family history I had not spoken to them about in the literature and pamphlets in the lobby.

This is by far the cleanest and best kept rest area I've ever been in in my travels. Very impressive with the care this place is given. Lots of parking, seating areas. Bathrooms are spotless

Very clean bathrooms with plenty of room for parking. There's also a number of large picnic areas. All of them well maintained. This more like a park than a rest area.
