Did is really bland. They don't even put enchilada sauce on the corn tortilla with 2 tablespoons of ground unseasoned beef, they put runny tomato soup on their enchiladas. But the process are definitely for fine dining. They either need to lower the process or provide a higher quality of food.
*TIP IS AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDED IF YOU HAVE A PARTY OF 5+* First thing, this restaurant is way overpriced for their lack of seasoned food. I ordered 2 fountain drinks, a kids plate, a side of nachos and side of beans and rice and the bill was close to $40. The food did not have much flavor and the “nachos” were pretty much chips and cheddar cheese I could have made at home. No drink refills which is ridiculous considering 2 drinks nearly cost $8. Secondly, the waitress overcharged me and knew about it and still let me walk out the door. After checking both receipts she gave me I realized the overcharge, I was a party of 2 with an infant, tip should not have been included as I had tipped on top of the overpayment. I went back in to ask about the additional charge and she said “oh yeah” like it was intentional and she wasn’t expecting that I noticed. Thankfully, She did give me my money back with no hassle. Did not get much service but it’s ok because the abuelita working had an attitude and was rolling her eyes at customers. Would not recommend this place one bit. Save yourself the trip and your money and go elsewhere :)
Great food, tasty drinks: we had the quest fundido with home made chorizo and instead of being a typical processed cheese goo, it was fresh cheese melted and done just right. Enjoyed the chicken enchiladas and carne asada combo. Roasted jalapeños were SO scrumptious too. Only complaint: disappointing they felt the need to charge for chips ($1) and an extra jalapeño ($0.50) when we're spending $65 on dinner.
What I can say about this place is that it was definitely a real surprise to me. Came for a conference and found it close by so had to try but as always was skeptical. Can you find real good Mexican food in Idaho - well yes! I tried the chipotle chicken and wow. It’s my first time getting the chipotle flavor on this dish as good as it gets. Give this place a try! Don’t be a wuss about spicy food - chipotle is flavor - flavor is life! lol
Mi Tierra in San Antonio Texas is our favorite place. We were excited to find one here in Idaho and unfortunately their door was locked at 8:18pm even though the sign says it closed at 9pm. Called the restaurant and with no explanation they said that today (Sunday) they are closed at 8pm. Hope this gets to a manager but for sure will let them know in San Antonio :(
