Melina's Mexican Food

We thought we would give Melina’s a try for breakfast. YES, they now serve breakfast items. Sure glad we did. From the moment the few of us (few different groups) walked in, we all were greeted with a friendly hello and smile from a female waitress. Everyone was told to seat themselves. Not long after we all did, a gentleman came and took our drink orders. He too was great. Very friendly. (Meant to take a picture of their breakfast menu but forgot). $8.99~ “gabbys special” 2 pancakes (fluffy and yummy), hashbrowns, toast, 2 eggs and choice of meat- ham/sausage/bacon. She chose bacon and received 3 slices. $5.00ish~(can’t remember the exact) half order of french toast (bacon, eggs and hashbrowns from above order was enough to be split with me). My daughter loves churros and asked for one. I told our female waitress (wish I would have got her name) and she informed me that they don’t start making them until after 11:00 (when their lunch starts). I told her that was fine as I am sure we will still be there. She mentioned it to the cook that we wanted one and he said he would go ahead and do it at that time. (We did not have to wait the 20 mins until 11:00). Very much appreciated!! Very clean building and again, the staff was wonderful. All were friendly and very welcoming to everyone I saw arriving before and after we did. Already planning our next breakfast visit. ????

Food was great! Service was top notch! The gal that served us was new that day and she did phenomenal! Atmosphere was alright besides the slamming front door that spooks ya when you least expect it ????

The tamales were yummy. When you walk in it smells so good and there's plenty of seating. The bathrooms were clean too. Not a large parking lot.

One of my favorite places in Blackfoot. They have moved to a new location that is pretty cool! Love the never ending chips with my meal!

TLDR: Avoid Melina's - It is the worst "Mexican" restaurant ever... If you can even call it a Mexican restaurant. We haven't been to Melina's in years. It was one of my family's favorites for as long as I can remember, and for a good reason. Everything about this place was fantastic! We were in town and decided to go back. Something changed... Everything changed! This is one of the worst Mexican restaurants I have even been to. The food was bland and boring. Everything tested like it came from an expired can from a discount grocer. The prices would only be reasonable if the food wasn't so awful. The service wasn't great, but our server sure thought she did a great job. She added a 20% gratuity to everyone's bill and disguised this on the check, writing "grat" over some blue ink on the check so it couldn't be read easily. The menu states that 15% will be added for parties of 5 or more... not 20%. A party of 5 is a typical family.. but I guess they can't handle it. When paying, there's another line for a tip which helps them rip people off even more if they don't realize that they were already scammed by the wait staff. I support local businesses that are legitimate and good. I rarely leave reviews but want to warn anyone and everyone that even considers eating at this place. AVOID MELINAS! You'll absolutely regret dining here. If you moved away from Blackfoot like I did, know that it's not the same place it once was.
