Mariame African Hair Braiding

Unprofessional. I got butt length knotless but the braids actually stopped a little lower than bra length with the actual braids. I communicated with someone the day after that it looked messy and needed to be braided down all the way. She told me she would call me back to come when those braiders were back in the shop in two days. She never called back. I called her again she said she’ll call me back and let me know what time. again she never called back. I called a third time she apologized and said she’ll call back and still she never called back.

I’ve been to this place a couple of times. The 1st time was very pleasant! I had my hair done by the nice light skin thick lady, I didn’t get her name. She was the reason I came back today. I was given a price of $250 over the phone, I paid $200 last time. I was okay with the price because the service last time was so good & the plaits were cute. Another lady started doing my hair & I asked for “small, mid back length plaits”. She started to do above my bra strap. I asked her will they be mid back, she said “If you want them longer, it’ll be $300”. I showed her a picture of the last time I got my hair done & the messages confirming how much I paid. That made her upset. She took my phone and showed the lady & asked her “Did she pay $200 for these?”. The lady denied it , even after I showed her the messages between us. The whole shop started to verbally attack me, calling me a liar all because I showed proof of what I said. Another customer had to kinda step in and say “Sometimes they are very offensive with the way they talk, I was offended at first too” (which still doesn’t make it right). A stylist said “Yes, we even argue with each other” … After they were done, I was still gonna sit there like a dummy after being disrespected & pay $300 + a tip to get my hair done. But after she went to start on someone else hair, I told her “She could take out my 8 plaits or not, but I’m not continuing with this style.” Then all of a sudden, she found manners & asked me to stay. I refused! I will not be back! If I could give negative stars, I would!

The new place is more spacious and comfortable. They are great here with good prices. The braiders are nice and make sure that you get what you asked for. I have been here a few times and they have braided pretty quickly every time.

On the phone told me 55 for just cornrows and then when I got there and told me 65. Never mentioned that they only take cash and they work on multiple people‘s heads at once. The lady doing my hair didn’t wash my scalp properly either

This was my daughters first time getting box braids and she was so excited and nervous but all the women working here made her feel so comfortable and were so patient and kind with her! I highly highly recommend bringing your children or yourself here. It's difficult finding hair braiders to do kids hair and everyone here was amazing with my daughter! One last thing they supplied everything!
