James is the best bartender ever!! I’d highly recommend checking Luckys Pub for good drinks made by Spokane’s best bartenders including James, Carlos, and Anja! Duh! They’re always slanging drinks with a smile + they’re always down to talk. The upstairs has a pool table, small arcade bar, and darts. It’s a standard dive bar in downtown SPO but the food is great with optional pull tabs. As a bartender myself, don’t forget to tip the staff! They work hard! And play harder! Sometimes they have DJ’s perform if the touch tunes isn’t your style but it’s always a pleasure to walk into the bar. The staff is amazing + the food is immaculate! P.S.: don’t listen to the fear mongers on KXLY about the “shady people” in downtown Spokane. It’s like that anywhere + they don’t bother you if you don’t bother them. P.P.S: I love Luckys + tell all of my friends to check it out, too. #spokanedoesntsuck
Luckys bar was probably our favorite stop of the evening. The music was loud and pumping, the crowd seemed engaged and we’re dancing. The bartenders were friendly, and we’re quick to serve. Unfortunately, we are just passing through town. Otherwise I could see this being a fun neighborhood watering hole. If you’re in downtown Spokane, look up Luckys bar, it was a lot of fun.
I came to Spokane to do photos at a concert at the Knitting Factory and my train back to Portland wasn't until 3:45 AM. The bartender on duty (didn't confirm a name but might have been Hannah) allowed me to stay past closing time and set my whole computer up so that I was able to wait safely and comfortably for a few hours rather than in the Amtrak station. Seriously cannot express my appreciation for that enough, it made an exhausting day much much better at the end.
Not sure the name of the guy behind the bar…but he was real friendly. This place has a killer happy hour…I paid $4 for a Kona Big Wave draft (normally I think they are $5…which is still a heck of a deal). I’ll be back here 100%
Wednesday night was fairly slow, which was nice for a while. To be able to relax, listen to a FIRE playlist, then play a few games of free pool between 2-8pm sounds like an alright night to me! ;-)
