Las Palmas Mexican Grill

One of the only restaurants in Oakdale, so it’s the best out of three spots lol. I went on Sunday around 7 pm and it wasn’t too crowded. Good service and vegetarian selection, though my spinach quesadilla was too salty and I don’t like the cheese they use it’s almost like a cream instead of a cheese. The margaritas are very reasonably priced and strong.

Discovered this place while looking for Mexican joints along hwy 165 when I am traveling. I gotta say it was a great choice. The restaurant is right off the highway and is very quick. I was in and out in 30min. The prices were great and the food was scrumptious and plentiful. I judge most restaurants based on their chili rellano's and the one here was the best I have ever tasted. I have never had one with anything more than cheese in it. This one was served to me stuffed with ground beef as well. I am pretty sure I just found my go to stop when traveling up that way. Ole!

The queso was white liquid and had no flavor. Thr salsa was also very runny. We could not get the chips to our mouths without making a mess. Taco Salad had so much liquid at the bottom that it washed out any flavor that may have been in the meat. We will not be going back.

The people were so nice, but the food was terrible. Nothing that came out of the plate was from today. Which I can't blame the cook because they had close to 150 things on the menu. The salsa that came out with the chips, had been so long in its container it came out in glop shaped like the container.

The place is great I'm a local and I take company there to impress and enjoy. And we are never in a hurray you don't have to be ,stop and smell the roses maria, Dave and Ellie work there , there kind and respectful, and great cooks, the place is clean and spacious great for business meetings to spread out and talk
