La Perla II

I had seen this restaurant mentioned on social media and wanted to give it a try. When we walked in, it didn’t make the best first impression. The space felt a bit run down and could definitely use some attention to cleaning, especially in the general dining area. That said, the service immediately stood out. Our server greeted us right away, was attentive throughout the meal, and made us feel welcome. We started with chips and salsa, which were both really good. The hot salsa actually had some real heat, which is surprisingly hard to find around East Tennessee. For our meals, I ordered the carne asada tacos with rice and beans, and my husband had the chilaquiles. Both dishes were excellent. The beans were slightly runny, but the flavor across everything was great. Overall, this place feels a bit underrated. The food and service were strong, and the prices were very reasonable. We spent around $22 for both of us, which is hard to beat. With a little more attention to the overall cleanliness of the space, this could easily be a standout spot. We would definitely go back.

I ordered a soft shell taco and a Carne Asada Torta and the bread was great, as well as the cheese tomato and lettuce... but the meat that was on it was disgusting. It was so fatty and grissley and it honestly looked like dog food. Not going back after that. I hurt my tooth on one of the pieces because it was so hard. They need to upgrade the quality of their meat.

I was referred to the amazing spot by a friend. Wow! The prices are very reasonable (cheaper than fast food chains like Taco Bell) but insanely better. Made fresh. Plenty of meat on the tacos, sauces are superb, and just all just so fresh. A very sweet family runs this place. If you want delicious, cheap food on the go, that doesn’t taste cheap… give them a shot!!

Excellent food: large portions, delicious flavors. The only Mexican food in the area that reminds me of the authentic Mexican food in California. The salsa is hot and strong, but the entrees are just right. Everything is fresh and tasty. Family owned and operated, so give em a visit.

Most authentic Mexican food in Jefferson City. This place has amazing food and is worth the stop!
