The food isn’t very good quality. The sushi was decent. I really enjoyed the soup. However, the steak was completely unacceptable. You can’t bill yourself as a steakhouse and have mushy, chewy steak. My wife got the shrimp, and it was decent. Prices are reasonable, service is good, people are friendly, but you seem to have to know what to order to have a good experience.
Adorable, quaint restaurant. I can tell the owner takes prides in offering a positive, overall experience. The decor is authentic. My server was quick to take my drink and food order. My drink was brought out right away. They give you a complimentary soup, which adds a nice touch to the experience. The food took a little longer than average but came out piping hot and was fresh. Overall, I think I would come here again and try other dishes.
I do not recommend coming here. This was the first and last time I’ll be going. The food was not good at all. Got the chicken hibachi which was very bland and very soupy. Got a sushi roll as well and it had a terrible after taste like bad fish. Couldn’t even finish it. This place was not worth the 40 dollar bill.
Spent $35 tonight and to be honest I think it was fair. The food was good for the price but could’ve been better. The carrots for the hibachi were mushy as if they came out of a can and the steak was a little chewy despite asking for it to be made two different ways. The sushi was average, not great but not bad. A good price for how much you get though. vegetable lomein however in was delicious.
????? — Come for the free soup, stay for the gyoza… then leave before the sushi ruins your night. If disappointment were an art, Kyoto Gardens would be the Louvre. I walked in expecting a sushi experience and left questioning my life choices. The sushi? I’ve had better from a gas station next to a bait shop. It was the kind of meal that makes you nostalgic for prepackaged grocery store rolls and a sense of trust in humanity. But let’s not be entirely rude — the gyoza? Chef’s kiss. I’d fight someone in the parking lot for another order. And the free soup? I don’t know what’s in it, but it tasted like a hug from a grandma who never learned what sushi is and doesn’t want you to, either. Final thoughts: If you’re craving sushi, go to literally any other place with raw fish and a dream. But if you want good dumplings and a free existential crisis? Kyoto Gardens is calling your name.
