Kenny's Ribs & Chicken

I had the Kenny’s craving for some time now so I called in my order Lg tip dinner extra sauce and a bottle of sauce. The young lady that took the order was very nice and pleasant. I did have sticker shock when I added a mini turkey tip and medium greens she tells me $63.00. Wow inflation is real… but i figured the food is great so why not. I got home to open my lg tip dinner and what use to be a full plate of ribs and fries looked to be 1/2 full… I understand cost of everything has gone up but the amount of food you get shouldn’t have gone down. Nonetheless I began to eat the ribs and to say the quality was worth it is an understatement. The rib tips were hard to chew and had no sauce on them, they looked burnt or as if they were leftovers from the day before. Sorry to say i won’t be going back. Kenny Sr or Jr if you guys want to keep up in the business you may want to get involved in your Lansing location. Quality of food was disgusting, and the portion was pitiful. Looks like this place is a thing of the past! Now i see why the place was empty besides the 6 employees it was pretty lonely in there… How sad!!!

The security guard made the experience acceptable. The cashier was so sweet and kind… however WHOever was in the back peeking over his shoulder, should have been looking at the table… i just need to know why weren’t my tips in pieces. Thankfully I caught the special because for full price I would have felt robbed for real lol. It was good after I added more of my own bbq sauce. Some chefs are so stingy like it’s their own supply, it’s KENNY’s … he should have plenty after all these years of business.

I came on the 4th of July 2025. I ordered a mini tip/ link combo & a small tip cut thin. I waited about 15 to 20 mins and paid $41 for my order which was not a problem. The rib tips were VERY lightly seasoned, were not hot, and the link was the same. Also not tender! Nothing to brag about! I will stick to my normal Chicago spots.

I would not recommend this place. We went when they first opened. We ordered the special for that day. Got home that meat had to be from the day before. It was too tough to chew. You can see that it was old after biting into it. I didn’t called back because we lived far away from them and didn’t want a replacement order. They need to throw out the night before meat and cook fresh meat.

Well, let me just start off saying that the food was great. I ended up getting the ribs and the two chicken wings. The young lady asked me if I wanted my barbecue sauce on the side and I told her yes well when I receive my food I came to discover that my barbecue sauce was poured all over my food mind you this meal comes with fries and a side of coleslaw and when they say a side of coleslaw, it’s a sample although it was good. I just don’t think it was worth the money and the fact that they poured barbecue sauce all over my food even my wings that were just fried did not sit well with me other than that the food was good, but I’m gonna need them to do better….. below is what they call a side of coleslaw???????????
