So where does one eat breakfast when your kids are up at crack of dawn California time because their internal clock is still working in Texas time? Oh Perris, CA... We happened upon this town for a hot minute because we had a wedding at Motte Historical Car Museum. After Yelp searching many a restaurants near 92571 area code, we happened upon this one. When you walk in - ambiance is on point. You totally get the feeling of a diner set back in the 60's. Just like in the movies. Not to stereotype (but still stereotyping) - as soon as I walked in and scanned the people eating there, I knew this was the locals place to be for Saturday morning breakfast. Actually, now that I think about it, maybe they WERE all locals because how many people would frequent to Perris, CA? Prices & Portions - I'm an old believer that breakfast should not be pricey. It's eggs and bacon and pancake batter y'all. So with that said, I obviously pre-judged complaining in my head about how pricey the meals were. But honestly guys, the portion sizes make up for the price of the meal. Each meal technically equaled 2 meals. You get a good portion of your main dish, PLUS large portions of 2 types of carbs. Don't get me started on the hashbrowns - they came out filling their own regular sized plate. Food - food was pretty good. Nothing that stood out to write home about. Good enough to say if I were to happen in Perris again, I'd order me a corned beef hash breakfast again. I like how they have a good selection of different types of breakfast dishes too. More than just your plain jane eggs and bacon. Bonus - they open at 7am if you (or your kids) are an early riser.
A very pleasant surprise! We discovered this place while doing a job nearby. We've been eating lunch there daily since. I've tried the Pork Chops and eggs breakfast, the Cobb salad and the Avocado BLT combo. All great with decent sized portions at a decent price. The place could use a makeover, but the Marilyn Monroe art does make it feel more classy. The staff is wonderful, in particular Guadalupe, who recommended the pork chops. If you like diners, you probably should check this place out.
Ok your order the fried chicken dinner..told it would take 30 minutes to prepare cause it cooked to order....ahhhhhhh its burnt to order. Unbelievable that something that is dead be killed 30 minutes more then served. This was the worst chicken dinner I have ever had....and believe you and me wont do it again. Staff and servers were very pleasant and polite. Unfortunately they won't reap the benefits of their cooks caring about the preparation of the meals. This chicken I couldn't even boil or serve to my fur babies it was that bad...just disgusting in every way. So much for being hungry and wanting a good comfort food meal. Dang It! What waste of money....again dang it!
This year I switched from Denny’s to JENNYS.???? lol I do enjoy the food here. My favorite is getting the country potatoes. The French toasts are good and the coffee hits the spot. Glad to have met this breakfast/lunch restaurant. Also the waitress’s are nice (:
I’m on this place has been around for a while, but it has declined in the quality for last two decades. Not to mention they do not know how to make omelettes anymore. I got the high protein breakfast this morning, and they mixed the steak on the same plane as a mixed fruit and cottage cheese. Blood got everywhere
