CUSTOMER REVIEWS
If I could give this place a negative review I would. I came here with friends for a birthday party. We purchased a section. I am very confident the bottles ordered were tampered with. Alcohol that should have a strong brown tint was clearly watered down with something. I was super sick and had the worst night of my life after drinking at this place.
Let's be honest, your located uptown Charlotte, your already going to make money. Why are you charging at the door and then charging another price just to go to another area which is the same area style as the first area. Stop overcharging customers to walk around the establishment not to mention have them wait to get in for over 45 minutes when there's nobody inside. The DJ was dope though kudos to him. And the hookah girls are great. But just stop it already.
Ladies, I recommend you not going by yourself. The security here is very abusive when it comes to women for some reason this is not the first incident of security beating in women, but in this case recently, a A woman was thrown against a brick wall and is now suffering from a concussion. And also previously, I’ve seen a security guard pick up lady up and slam her on the head. Keep in mind that the police will be no help per usual. They will just take you and not the security guard so I recommend not going here. The business needs to do better with their security seriously.
We went to The Imperial for New Year’s Eve, and it was a complete waste of $40. The lady at the front swore it would get better as the night went on, but when we got inside, it was almost empty, and barely anyone was dancing. The setup was weird—the sections weren’t separated, so people could just walk into your area. The screens were nice, and the music was okay, but the vibe was dead. The lady at the front was rude, though the security guards were cool. The bar staff and bottle girls didn’t interact with anyone who wasn’t in a section, so I can’t say much about them. We ended up leaving out of frustration. Some people said it got better later, but most told us The Imperial is only good on certain weekends—not on New Year’s, which makes no sense for a club. Save your money and go somewhere else.
It's a great spot location for a fun night out. Great dj, good music (from 90/00s up) drinks were overpriced for small plastic cups like most spots... but the kicker was the acceptance of weed smoking throughout the night. Honestly, it was entirely too much. Security allows it, so I didn't bother with saying anything. Folks didn't mind, and I didn't complain, but maybe having folks smoke outside would be better. [Not everyone smokes weed or wants to be around it - the hookah is already a lot.] It eventually became too much, and we ended up leaving... we were trying to celebrate a birthday. As for the atmosphere, the vibes are good. Great spot if you like to just unwind and chill, smoke something... the dj honestly was the absolute best... we went on a Sunday night. I'm curious if other nights are more relaxed without smoking as it would be a great spot to get out and enjoy. I wouldn't mind returning another night just to see. The bartenders and bottle girls had good energy, too. I loved that the game was playing on the huge wall screen and all the tvs- made for an added plus to the venue. If you're visiting Charlotte and want to enjoy uptown without all the extra requirements for entry, this is a good spot. It was also free to enter - which was cool, unsure cost on other nights. Most folks were dressed down street clothes, so I don't think they have a dress code like other venues. Another option is to just get better ventilation, and then smoking won't be so aggressive to non-smokers. All in all, it was a great final stop to our Bday bar/venue crawl, and I'm not disappointed with the adventure! I chose 4 stars solely bc of the ventilation/smoke.
