Hurricane Jane's

I was passing through leaving Greensboro and I wanted to eat at a place on my route with real food, and I saw Hurricane Jane's on maps. The menu looked good so I stopped by. It ooks like a hole in the wall place, but it has a nice-looking patio area. The food was amazing, the service was nice, prices were great, and I'd come back if I'm passing through!

A small dive that you need to go to. The atmosphere is amazing. The decor inside reminds me of the beach(note the name). The food is great, and the employees worked as a team from the time we walked in until the time we left. They had a DJ that started as we were finishing our meal, so we stayed and had another drink. We had tickets to a show at Liberty showcase, so time was running out. We will be back, thanks.

First time coming here and probably the last. Sat at the bar and listened to a couple people plus Susie talk negative about an employee. Why? I dunno but regardless of whatever as an owner gossiping about someone especially your worker isn't something you want your customers to hear. And it made me sick to my stomach listening. If this is how you treat your employees then I'm not coming back. I would have thought this to be a safe and bully free zone but no. Karaoke was fine and enjoyable, but the amounts of drunks walking around and screaming in the mics were irritating. I ordered some wings and they were really good but the buffalo dip on the side was very small. Besides that, it was a pleasurable night. Edit: I highly doubt the employee was enjoying that. Regardless if playing or not, she didn't seem to keen on it and it's not okay. I'm sure the girl who was being talked down about wore a black hat and had sandy blonde hair because I overheard her also talking about what was happening to others. I get joking and it's being a family/friend spot to hang, but again, she didn't seem to enjoy being negatively talked about like that and who can blame her. While I do agree, I should have asked for more sauce as that was my bad. Getting to know everyone would be nice but you didn't seem like you were joking about this employee whatsoever. You may have been joking, but other's don't know that. Regardless of relatives, doesn't mean anything. I apologize for assuming but again, that didn't sound like joking and was loud enough for me to hear across the bar even with loud music playing. Seeing others look at you and laugh then leave showed me a lot. I've heard plenty of other people explaining this isn't the first rodeo of those people at the bar talking about the same people and they were NOT joking long side you. But do know If the employee is making mistakes, you don't need to be going to her aunt or uncle you should be going to her mother. Unless the mother is deceased and she's staying with the other relatives which may be the case but besides that I'm sure she's an adult and is old enough to fix whatever problems and isn't okay with the jokes and judging by hearing her she wasn't. If you were joking while I was there, I apologize but pretty much everyone has heard you and them gossip about this particular girl and no jokes were made. I will try here again, and I'll try to ask the girl so that way things can get cleared up. If you're going to make jokes, at least wait until all your customers are familiar with the humor. Since this was my first time here, I'm unaware but trying to make sure the worker isn't being bothered by her employer. The same girl we're talking about was the same one who came up to me and asked if I was doing okay so she's pretty sweet for a waitress and deserves better. But at least joke with her around so people don't get mixed signals and assume. And that's fine, you can gossip about me but if you're going to joke about someone, do it to them and not behind their back because not everyone will understand who is new. But do know, I'm just the start of it. Take care!

Finally stopped in for dinner on my way home and so glad I did. Got a Tsunami Burger with fries. Burger was excellent with a perfect level of spicy heat - enough to notice but not overwhelming. Servers were excellent and everything was done promptly and friendly. Decor was unique and in line with the theme. Just a note - since the Maps photos have been taken, looks like barricades have been put up in the lot off Greensboro street (hwy 421) leaving only a couple spots, so park and enter on the other side. Definitely recommend.

Saturday was the first time I came in and it was excellent! Small fight looked to be brewing but was de-escalated quickly thankfully. Had a young worker catering to me and was extremely friendly and talkative and she had a good time messing/being messed with other customers as well lol. Fun birthday party had some good food and sang some karaoke. I'll return again!
